DECOMMISSIONING OF NON-DIRECTIONAL BEACONS USED FOR EN-ROUTE NAVIGATION

This AIC contains preliminary information on planned changes of the ground-based navigation infrastructure serving en-route application.

— Introduction

In compliance with the concept described in „ECAC Navigation Strategy and Implementation Plan” document, ground-based navigation infrastructure serving en-route application within LHCC FIR is planned to be rationalised.

As the expected lifespan of the operational Non-Directional Beacons has been reached, they are planned to be completely withdrawn from en-route operations by 30.06.2019.

NDBs will be retained at aerodromes as facilities supporting non-precision procedures.
