The approach and runway lighting along with PAPI35 is equipped with Pilot Controlled Lighting System conforming to FAA AC 150/5345-49A and FAA AC 150/5345-1. System activation is carried out by pushing the communication radio transmit button several times in a 5 seconds interval according to the following:

Number of transmits in 5 secondsIntensity of approach and runway lighting and PAPI35
310%
530%
7100%

The system operates immediately after a valid command sequence on the appropriate intensity for 15 minutes and then shuts down. If a new command sequence arrives within the 15 minutes operating time, the system changes to the chosen intensity and a new 15 minute operating cycle begins.
